Carletta Smith

Carletta Langerhans Smith was born and raised in Fredericksburg, Texas.  She is married to Patrick Smith from Blanco, Texas and they have 5 children.

Carletta has always been very interested in the artsy and creative side of life.  Her first art lesson was when she was twelve years old, which was a pastel class.  She grew up in her family’s florist and nursery business.  When Carletta was 18 years old, her mother passed away and she began her career as a designer in the florist business.  The majority of her artistic ability went into flower arranging, landscaping and decorating her home.

She has recently retired from the florist business and is now pursuing her real love – art.  Since Carletta’s retirement she has taken numerous classes in drawing, pastel, water color and most recently, an art class by Joyce Combs, who has been a great inspiration to her.  When Carletta is not painting or taking classes, she pours through books which provide self-study in oil painting.

Carletta’s love of flowers is evident through her brilliant water colors.
