Carlos
Moseley has lived in the Hill Country for the past fourteen years.
He was
born in
Guadalajara, Mexico. He graduated from high school and
finished one
year of college
there. He
then moved to the United States where
he has lived in Hawaii,
California, Louisiana & Houston
before making the Texas Hill Country his home.
Carlos has a great passion for kayaking, music, photography, cooking and creating
his artwork out of natural river rock and driftwood.
Close
examination of Carlos' work reveals many of the rocks have been
worked by other hands. Broken arrowheads, scrapers, and other
pieces of worked flint
and Native American artifacts as well as natural fossils make up
many of the creative pieces.
The process of his art work begins with many long hours spent along
the river beds collecting various rocks. Flint, limestone and
shale are the primary components that create sculptures and scenes,
which are mounted on to quarried sandstone or into the shadow boxes
which can be used as wall hangings or tabletop pieces. Epoxy
adhesives are used to complete each piece.
